Mae - 2025 Coated Raw Fleece

$265.00
sold out

Mae is a 3 year old Debouillet ewe, purchased from the Jones Ranch in 2022. Her 2025 fleece weighs at a 6lb skirted weight and has a 3.5” staple length throughout.

Her 2024 fleece took 1st place in the Estes Park Wool Market fleece show in the white fine wool ewe class and this year’s fleece is every bit as exceptional. She has fine, even crimp and a strong, solid lock with no tenderness. Pictures show the fleece, a representative lock with ruler, a representative image of minimal VM along one of the edges, and a picture of the tips. I didn’t get coats on right away after shearing last year and we had spring windstorms that drove dirt into the fleeces - so a few sheep (including Mae) got a rinse off before getting their coats back. This is the color difference visible in the photos, but the tips are sound and consistent with the rest of the lock. Picture of a washed lock included for your reference.

Expect about the same lanolin levels as you would with a Merino fleece. Mae averages about 20 micron.

Shipping within the contiguous US included in price. If you’re outside of this area, please use the contact form to get a shipping quote.
