Merida - 2025 Coated Raw Fleece

$215.00
sold out

Merida is a 3 year old Debouillet ewe, purchased from the Jones Ranch in 2023. Her 2025 fleece weighs at a 4.75lb skirted weight and has a 3.75” staple length. Merida is one of two coyote attack survivors living here and didn’t have a saleable fleece last year due to a wool break while healing. She has made up for lost time, however, and produced this ultra-fine fleece. She tested last year at 18.7 micron - which makes her the finest Jones Ranch ewe I own.

Pictures show the fleece, a representative lock with ruler, and a few pictures of the fleece layers in the bag. I didn’t get coats on right away after shearing last year and we had spring windstorms that drove dirt into the fleeces - so a few sheep (including Merida) got a rinse off before getting their coats back. This is the color difference visible in the photos, but the tips are sound and consistent with the rest of the lock. The last picture is of a washed lock so you can see that the staple is sound.

Once again - this is a VERY fine fleece.

Expect about the same lanolin levels as you would with a Merino fleece.

Shipping within the contiguous US included in price. If you’re outside of this area, please use the contact form to get a shipping quote.
